Description: | The CLE seminar, The "No Fear" Cross Method - Witness Prep and Control, will feature Richard H. “Dick” Willis. Dick will discuss two trial skills that every defense lawyer can improve on - witness preparation and cross examination. Both are process methods that can be learned. Knowing your witness is well prepared for a difficult cross examination, and that you can control your crosses to achieve your objectives, are sources of confidence in court. With the help of some good (and not so good) movie cross demonstrations, Dick will go over these methods as we watch their effectiveness. Dick is a GDLA member and partner at Williams Mullen in Columbia, SC, where he is an adjunct professor at USC’s Rice School of Law. He is a long-time faculty member of GDLA’s Trial & Mediation Academy. Dick is a member of the American College of Trial Lawyers, American Board of Trial Advocates, Litigation Counsel of America, IADC, and DRI. The seminar is approved for 2.0 CLE hours, including 2.0 trial hours. The CLE registration fee is $50.00 for GDLA Members (members' only event). Non-members who apply for membership can register to attend. |
